Stock management requires, in the end, human input. Every day you have to make important decisions: When and how much do I order? How can my information system help me? Which formulas and/or simulations can help me to make a rational choice? How can I reduce stock? Do I need stock at all? In short, you experience stock as a critical success factor in the supply chain.
Results
After the training course in Operational Stock Management you will have a better grasp of the function and costs of stock. You will know the importance and meaning of the degree of service. The formulas will enable you to make a better adjustment of the parameters (such as order size and order point) from now on. You will learn to chart the results by setting up and calculating the performance indicators. You will grasp the advantages and disadvantages of your own and other stock models and you will have discovered possibilities for improvement for your own organization.
Target audience
The course is for everyone who deals with stock management on an operational level (for example, as a planner or a stock manager).
Method
In this course you will learn to apply the theory immediately to your own organisation. Thus, you will carry out practical assignments and simulations working with your own company's figures. For this, you will use the simulation tool SimCurve®. In addition, you will test your understanding, in a playful way, in the Supply Chain Game. Moreover, under the instructor's supervision, you will write an improvement plan on the basis of one of the lesson topics.
